[Video or Action 003] It's Never Too Late for an April Fool's Joke

[ Today is Sealand's favorite holiday in the whole world, April Fools day! It was the one day of the year where he could openly play pranks on people.

Which leads us to this scene here, somewhere in the village.

Sealand snickered as he places out two bowls and a gift wrapped box on a table. One bowl full of ranbow colored skittles, multi-colored chocolate candies, and chocolate and peanut butter candies. All of which were mixed carefully so one couldn't tell them apart. The other bowl was full of joke candy. Ones that made your mouth blue or black, ones that were super hot, and candy that tasted utterly disgusting. The gift box was rigged so a fake spider would pop out as soon as it was opened.

He then placed a sign saying "Happy Candy and Gifts Day!" Perfect. If all goes well, this prank will be the best.

He then opens his journal to finalize it and bring people to him. ]

Hello friends! Back in my world, today is a very special day! It's Candy and Gifts day back in my country and it is where we give out candy or gifts to random strangers! It's supposed to promote goodwill and friendship! So today, I'll be at a table in the village if anyone wants to celebrate this totally awesome holiday with me! [Sealand flashes an innocent looking smile.]

[OOC: So yeah. Pick which ever bowl you want or even the gift. Or both or all three! Have fun.]

[It was by complete and total chance that Erica came across Sealand's prank as she wandered around the village. While she didn't catch his message, once she spots the table she walks over to investigate all the same. Oh, candy! She's captivated by the brightly coloured candy for a moment before she pulls herself away to read the sign on the table.]

Happy Candy and Gifts Day? I've never heard of day like this before. But thank you, happy Candy and Gifts Day to you too!

[Ah his first victim. Usually Sealand would feel guilty pranking a lady but it's April Fool's Day, so anything goes on that day.]

It's a holiday that's just exclusive to my country back home. However, I believe every place should have a Candy and Gifts Day! It would bring happiness to everyone, don't you think?

[He gestures to the table and grins.] Miss, pick whatever you like, okay?

I completely agree with you! It would be so enjoyable for everyone involved, I don't know a person who wouldn't be happy in Paris on Candy and Gifts Day.

[Who doesn't like candy? ... Well, some people don't like candy. But who doesn't like gifts?! You just can't get a day like Candy and Gifts Day wrong!

She's already reaching for the first bowl when Sealand offers them to her.] In the spirit of the holiday, thank you very much! [And so she takes one candy. Just one. And eats it... And then she goes back to take one more, eats it... And another! She can tell the candies are different, but if anything she thinks the variety of different tastes is wonderful!]

Paris? You're from France?

[Sealand's grin falls slightly as he notices that she just taking one candy at a time. Did she catch on to the prank already?

Not to seem suspicious, he brings his smile back.]

Don't be shy. Why don't you just grab a handful and pop them in your mouth? All at once.

That's right! [Oh! Someone who knows about France! She really hasn't met any people at all who are familiar with it, so she's glad to meet someone who is.] But if you say so, I won't be shy at all. Here I go!

[And so she does! Well, she won't take a handful, she wouldn't want to take too many sweets so no one else has the chance to have any. But she takes enough to get a good assortment of everything. Into her mouth the sweets go. Chew chew chew... And then she lets out a happy sigh!]

Tres bien! The flavours are all different, but still very sweet. Thank you for telling me the proper way to eat candy on Candy and Gifts Day!

[Sealand stared at her in shock. She took a lot and ate them and didn't spit them out.]

Y-You actually liked them!? They didn't taste weird or yucky to you at all?

[He looks at the bowl closely.]

Did I not mix them well?

Oh no, they were mixed very well. I think I managed to get a taste of everything in the bowl with that handful.

[... And then she goes back to take a few more! Sorry Sealand, this one's sweet tooth is a force to be reckoned with.]

Why don't you take some as well? That way we can enjoy the holiday to its fullest, together!

They were? [Sealand realizes in mute horror that his prank doesn't work on her at all! How is this possible!?

And now she wanted him to try some. He can't really refuse.]

Err, s-sure! I'll take some too.

[He gulps and takes a small handful. ]

Here's to Candy and Gifts day! [He puts them in his mouth and eats them. The mixture of tastes almost made him spit it out but he swallowed them.] T-that was good.

It was, wasn't it? I'm glad to know you're enjoying the holiday as well!

[She gives Sealand a wide smile, clapping her hands together in thanks.]

Thank you for all your hard work bringing Candy and Gifts day to those who do not know about it. Now I know all about it I'll be sure to celebrate it when it comes around next year!

[Sealand doesn't respond at first because he was still trying to get the awful taste out of his mouth.]

Y-You're welcome. I'm happy that others want to celebrate it. [He's so confused. Is she trying to turn the prank around on him?]

So, what is your name miss?

[Nope, she isn't trying to turn the prank around. She's just being kind and trying to share in the holiday with the one who told her all about it!]

Oh yes, I should have asked for your name sooner! Mine is Erica Fontaine, what's yours?

[This is all just so strange to him. This prank usually works. This lady, Erica, is clearly someone to be admired (and feared) if she actually likes this mixture of candy.]

My name is Sealand! It's nice to meet you Miss Erica!

It's great to learn the name of the lady who loved my candy mixture so much!

[She's cooked weirder things with more 'varied' tastes than a couple of mixed up candies. This is nothing.]

And the same to you, Mister Sealand. [What an interesting name!] It's also good that I've learned the name of the person who taught me about a whole new holiday. Now I can let everyone I meet know just who introduced me to Candy and Gifts day when I tell them about it!

Oh you don't have to call me Mister! Sealand will do just fine!

[He looks a little nervous ]

Oh, you're gonna tell everyone that it was me? You don't have to, you know.

Just Sealand then. And I insist, really I do! I wouldn't want to take the credit for introducing a holiday I had no idea about! It's only fair that everyone I tell finds out that it is you who told me about it in the first place.

[He shouldn't look so nervous, she only wants everyone to know about his wonderful holiday! Surely that's a good thing and nothing to get nervous over.]

[He shakes his head.]

No really, you don't have to. I'll be happy with others just knowing about the holiday!

Being content with others knowing about today, but without them knowing about you... How kind of you, Sealand.

[And how very inspiring as well. Hopefully one day she can be just as selfless in spreading joy! With a clap of her hands, Erica examines the other bowl of candies.]

Are the ones in this bowl any different from the last one? I'd like to try some of these as well if they are!

[He laughs nervously.]

...Yes how kind of me.

[As soon as she inquired about the next bowl of candy, Sealand quickly grabbed it.]

No, no. You don't want to try these. I just remembered that this is a bad batch of candy. Y-Yes. It's been sitting out in the sun way too long.

[If she ate these, then she would know this whole thing was a prank and well, he didn't want that to happen.]

[It's probably for the best that Petra wasn't fond of overly sweet things, though she's not as suspicious as other certain individuals about brightly colored candies. The sign is really what catches her eye--maybe it was a holiday in his world, but what kind of day was "Happy Candy and Gifts Day"?

It's suspicious, to say the least, but Petra will stop to ask, just in case it's something she should know.]

This is normal back where you're from?

[He nods.]

Yep! It's a famous holiday back in my country! It's supposed to spread friendship and stuff!

[He gives her the cutest look he can.]

Would you like some candy or a gift, miss?

[oh what a cute little boy

Too bad Petra knows that little boys aren't cute unless they're in trouble, or about to be.]

It's very kind of you to offer, but I'm afraid I couldn't open the gift myself. I was training very hard yesterday, you see, and I hurt myself. Would you open it for me?

[Oh darn.]

You want me to open it? Well since you hurt yourself, I guess I could.

[He grabs the gift but hesitates on opening it.]

It would be kind of you.

[Petra is patient. If it's not a trick, she can apologize for lying later. She'll wait to see what it is first, though.]

Well okay...

[Sealand sighs. Well, it seems he can't get out of opening it himself.

He opens it and out pops confetti and large purple and fuzzy fake spider with giant googly eyes.

Sealand nervously laughs.]

...Surprise?

You should come up with a more convincing opening line for this, you know.

[It's an ultimately harmless prank, though, and she'll dust some of the confetti off of him before kneeling down to pick up some of the bigger pieces.]

Now help me clean this up, okay?

Really?

Alright. [He begins to help her clean up the mess. He starts putting the salvagable confetti back into the box.]

Are you mad that I tried to trick you, Miss?

It's suspicious to offer things like this here, you know? Everything is already free.

[Good job, Sealand, you would have been in a bit of actual trouble if you just left a mess for someone else to clean up.]

I'm not mad, but you just need to be careful. Those candies are tricks, too, aren't they?

[He would have never left a mess! He is a very tidy kid. ~~Yeah he totally would have.~~]

I know. But I had to try. I was hoping to a least trick at least a few people.

[He nods.]

Yeah, the first bowl has chocolate and peanut butter candies mixed in with sugary candy and the other bowl has candy that makes ink in your mouth plus other stuff.

[~~petra would have to show him the way of Special Ops Cleaning~~]

It makes ink in your mouth? Disgusting...

[Why would you ever want to do that to anyone??]

[~~Oh god. That would be horrible.~~]

Yeah! But the person eating it wouldn't know it until someone points it out since it would taste like regular candy. But their mouths would be all blue or black.

[He laughs as he randomly picks a candy out of the second bowl.]

I can demonstrate for you if you want!

So it's just a dye, not actual ink?

[She nods, waiting to see just what exactly this thing is going to do.]

Yep. Real ink would be too cruel of a joke, you know?

[He unwraps the candy and pops it in his mouth and chews. After a few seconds his mouth turns black, like he actually has ink in his mouth.]

See? It tastes like cherry but it turned my mouth black!

[And Petra will just stare at him.]

That's gross looking. Someone might try to get back at you if they figure out it was you.

[Sealand just shrugs and grins.]

Maybe but that's the risk you have to take for a good prank!

And anyway it's just trick candy. People wouldn't get too mad over that.

You do this often?

[Well, boys pulling pranks wasn't exactly unusual back home...]

Not lately. But today is a special holiday in my world so I had to do this.

If I didn't, I would have had to wait until next year to pull this off.

I really don't believe you about this being a holiday, you know.

[At least, it's not Happy Candy and Gifts Day if it does happen to be a holiday.]

It's totally a holiday! Today it's April Fools Day where everyone plays pranks on each other!

It's the best holiday ever. Next to Christmas of course.

That's more believable. [though she doesn't quite believe that, either...]

What kind of holiday is Christmas?

Christmas is a holiday where you give gifts to your friends and family and they give you gifts back! It's also about being good to others and helping them!

And if you're really good, a man called Santa comes into your house at night a leave you a present too!

And he goes into everyone's house? What kind of presents does this man bring?

[UH that sounds really suspicious??]

[He nods.]

Yep! He goes into everyone's house and the presents he brings is what the people in the house wished for! Like say you wrote to Santa and asked for a toy, on Christmas he'll bring you the toy you asked for!

Isn't that cool?
